
Anthony BarbaraPresident
Anthony lives in Woolloomooloo, Sydney and was brought up in Sydney’s south west suburbs. He was raised in a Maltese Catholic family and understands the struggles of coming out in a faith background. He is the owner and founder of a General Insurance brokerage which he has been running for several years.

Tim DalySecretary
Tim has seen the difficulties faced by people with a faith/orientation conflict and has been keen to support the work of Anthony Venn-Brown. He was raised as a Catholic. He lives in Lismore NSW and is a father and grandfather. He owns a video production and web development business. He is a Life Member of the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Business Association (SGLBA), on whose Board he served for over 10 years.

Bill WangFinance Director
Bill joined as a member of ABBI in 2014, and was appointed Treasurer at same time. As a Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA), a Public Practitioner and Registered Tax Agent, Bill specializes in providing professional accountancy, business management and tax advice for individuals and small to medium businesses. He brings a broad range of accounting, finance and management skills to the ABBI board.

Dr Marguerite FoxonBoard Member
Marguerite is a Sydney-based evaluation and performance improvement consultant. She has a long history of social justice activism, particularly in faith settings, in the U.S. and Australia. Marguerite attends Pitt Street Uniting Church in Sydney and Bundeena Christian Community. She joined the Board in 2013.

Tony RoweBoard Member
Tony runs a Registered Training Organisation business in the real estate training space – a highly regulated, heavily compliance-focussed sector in Australia. He has been in leadership roles in Catholic schools and coached sporting teams at representative levels. He was a senior Policy Adviser to a Minister in the NSW Government. Tony and his partner of 20 years, Glenn, have been keen supporters of ABBI since its establishment.

Nicole ConnerBoard Member
Nicole was born in Germany and raised in South Africa. She brings thirty years of experience of working in not-for-profit organisations and providing spiritual care. She is the director and primary narrative therapist and clinical supervisor at Defining Stories in Fitzroy North, Melbourne (on Wurundjeri land). She specialises in working alongside people who have been negatively affected by toxic religious experiences, anxiety, grief, and/or trauma. Nicole is a committed ally and advocate of LGBTI people and a friend of Anthony Venn-Brown and ABBI since 2006.

Derek BellBoard Member
Derek comes from a religious background. His interest in joining the ABBI Board is to assist in the mission to “to create understanding and acceptance for LGBTI people, empower community members and build bridges with religious organisations and leaders.” Derek volunteered on the Board of the Sydney Gay & Lesbian Business Association (SGLBA) for a little over 5 years, where he enjoyed the diversity of the community group and the ongoing friendships he created. Derek works as a Marketing Automation Engineer.
