EXODUS TO NOWHERE
The quest to cure queers
There is a commonly held belief that gay conversion programs began in the United States. This is not true.
Four years before Exodus was founded, in 1972, in Sydney Australia, Anthony Venn-Brown was in a residential program to change his sexual orientation.
Working on his current book “Exodus to Nowhere – the rise and fall of conversion therapy”, his research lead him to discover the many secular and religious influences that created the belief God heals homosexuals. It’s a long and intriguing journey that begins after World War 11 and ends a the most surprising place – Anthony attending the final US Exodus Conference to hear President, Alan Chambers say “I’m sorry” to the LGBTI community and “we are closing down.”
Anthony’s informative presentation will give you behind the scenes, unique insights and lessons learned still relevant to Christians grappling with the “gay issue”.
